We had never met

What if?

by Boogienights

Sometimes when I am all alone,
the "what ifs" come in play.
What if we two had never met?
What if you didn't stay?

What if the love we bask in now,
had never come to be?
The life we have had never been,
there was no you and me?

What if you never looked my way,
or spoke a single word?
I never paid attention,
your voice was never heard?

The "what ifs" always give me pause,
of what I might have missed.
If I had never felt your touch,
if we had never kissed.

I wake up from my reverie
when you walk through the door.
The "what ifs" then just fade away,
for you make my heart soar.

It's fate that meant for our two hearts,
that one spring day to meet,
and two soulmates to be as one,
to live a life so sweet.

What if you hold me in your arms,
and never let me go?
I'd say, "Please do, 'till time is through,
because I love you so".
