Panic Attack

Blushing skin,

Short breath and quiet voice--

Longing to escape the puzzled stares.

Standing tall,

Avoiding eye contact,

Yet feeling on the verge of collapse.

Breathe, breathe, breathe—

I reassure myself

In hopes the moment will pass over.
