What A Surprise

Two hands two hearts
comfort from the start
friendship to first kiss
did I a heartbeat miss?
friends all agog
through my lovesick fog
my brother watches on
his mate and sister belong


He with others rejoice
his, the silent voice
escorts me down the aisle
noticing the bride smile
nearly eleven years
of laughter and a few tears
now you are up to date
I thought spinsterhood my fate
