Valentine's Day: What is Love?

by EVA LEE MILLER

Valentine’s Day: What is love?

Is love the cards and candy

we give on Valentine’s Day?

Is it the flowers and balloons

we might give on a birthday?

Is it giving our love everything

he or she desires…

Watches, rings, diamonds…

vacations to dream-like islands…

Or, could real love be having

a conversation and listening…any day

Really listening and responding

as one who truly cares…any day

Listening, and when we are confused,

letting our loved one explain again…any day

As we listen with desires to

understand…we love.

Possibly, this communication

is real love…

Perhaps, patience in hearing

what our loved one is saying

is a true type of love…

Promises of caring and listening

could very well be a forever love…

any day.
