Love poem for deceased husband,
Love Doesn't Die
For six decades Love held us in its grip.
There never was a time we let it slip.
When Death claimed you, I thought my heart might break,
but what I felt for you, Death couldn’t take.
The Love we shared is hidden in my heart.
As long as I live on, it won’t depart.
Like candy hearts, the memories are sweet.
I cherish them. They make my life complete.
Although I can no longer see your face,
there’s not a single day I would erase,
and if I could I’d live them all once more
to do the same things that we did before.
.
My friends and others say that makes no sense.
The troubles faced in life are too intense.
But love grew stronger as we dealt with pain.
I’m still convinced, I’d do it all again.
Yet, one-life span is all we are allowed.
We can’t relive the promises we vowed.
So, I’ll endure until my time has passed,
assured by God, I'll see your face at last.
