My Beating Heart-acrostic sonnet

An object Contest Winner 
 
   My precious heart that beats beneath my chest,
     You hold a special place within my you.
       Believe these words with love that I've confessed,
         Encased within the plasma pumping through.
           A heart is not an object, they will claim.
             They'll never know the bond we hold and share.
               I'm sure there's few that love their heart the same,
                 Neglecting their own muscle love affair.
                   Genetically, I owe you every breath.
                     Heave softly blood throughout my every vein.
                       Existing without you, I'd welcome death,
                         As cells and oxygen escape my brain.
                           Remember this as sweetly you repeat,
                             This love will cease once you refuse to beat.
