Funniest unfunny joke

by Zaria Anderson

You can’t do a thing when you’ve been branded with the big c

So let her be your jester, your clown

With her sandpaper hands, awkward behavior and cartoon face

A feeling hiding behind the curtains

A concept she can see but can’t touch

Shes on stage your laughter blast in her ears

So toss her the red nose and rainbow hair

Her words never hold a tone of reality

Her mannerisms so strange

Her value is down to a penny

Yet her presence holds a heavy weight

Give her a tiny car and shoes that are 5 sizes too big

She’ll wear it all with pride till she realizes no one truly cares

Tell the town that the talent has returned

Im in the crowd

No one notices

My words are not light or heavy they barley exists

I payed for backstage passes,a tour of her brain

why hasn’t she hasn’t escaped

My skin suddenly feels safe

not seared or branded

In fact it’s barely there

I wished for invisibility

At least a part of me did

My heart overwhelmed with empathy and grief

Her eyes meet mine

They say the same for me
