Feelings and emotions of love not returned

Unrequited Love

by Sombul Augustine

Unrequited love

I loved you

To the moon and back

But the moon disappears

It’s nature is to hide

The love i had for you

Like the moon, it disappeared

My love was a deception

Enslaved in rejection

Love I had for you

Under the eerie moonlight

Died of resentment

The Love for you

Was a blackened cancer

Disdainful moon dancer

It gloated and waited

To gamble on my dignity

I’m done dancing

In the moonlight

Under stagnant streetlights

I’m gone on, moving to sunlight
