A story of a regrettable affair

The Face of Evil

by Colorado Owl

The Face of Evil

I’ve seen the face of evil

In sparkling eyes

That pierced my soul

And glorified my reflection.

I’ve heard the voice of evil

In velvet tones

And soothing words

That embraced my imperfections.

I’ve felt the touch of evil

In hand and lips

Awakening fires

That silenced my objections.

I’ve spent my nights with evil,

Wrapped in warmth,

Charmed by lies,

As I was added to his collection.

I knew the cost of evil,

Offering up my soul

And self-respect

For the scraps of his affection.

Now I’ve paid the price of evil,

As he laughs,

And turns away,

To make his next selection.
