HIC ET NUNC

I lie awake, a moment to partake …these seconds that pass.

I feel my heartbeat and taste my breath …ah to let this last.

I shift to what’s bright, such pure sunlight that welcomes me to soak in its appeal.

Sunbeams bid me come closer, so closer I will.

As sunrays touch blinking eyes, sun warmed floor touches heels.

The trees wave softly to me with help from the breeze as I peer through the pane.

Hi world! Just the way I left you, so nice to see you again.

I have life, breath, sunlight …some tears.

I have my health, my hopes and dreams; most times no fears.

Good morning Holy Spirit, did I forget to pray?

Then let me begin by saying thank you for another day.
