An observation of life today

True Life

by Heather Heino

We all only have just one planet Earth
where we live, we learn, we love, then we leave.
In our darkest times we have given birth,
to sinful lifestyles that bred wicked seeds.
Innocents suffer as evil prevails,
the devout neglected as idols rise. "But it's called progress!" their ignorance wails,
but progress shouldn't lead to our demise.
Corruption and greed, insatiable needs,
A disease that afflicts all of Mankind.
Hopeless and helpless, we can barely see,
Feeling our way through the dark in our minds.
Certainly there must be a better way,
Surely we weren't made just to go astray..?
