Dear Lord forgive me You are still my hero

Move Over Bunny

by Claire Tennant

Jesus vs. Easter Bunny Contest Winner

Jesus had many enemies mostly arrogant and loud

some kept silent wanting to be in the crowd

one of them was Bunny whose nose was out of joint

he was destined to be important at some point

he made his presence felt on the road to Calvary Hill

a place of cruelty and horror always, until

Jesus in the garden just after  He was freed

from Joseph’s tomb no longer gloom you see

looked down at the Bunny with a little glow

“Have you not read the script mate it’s my turn to show

who the Saviour of the world is while you some ideas grow

You will get your time to shine at a later date

by the thing they will call chocolate that puts on body weight.”

And like all egotists Bunny’s plans were like tar

Easter with chocolate what a disgrace even in a bar

Jesus My Saviour still wins He died so I’d be free

even if the disrespect here  you see

The cross is a place of misery and disgrace

The resurrection and joy  will never be replaced

Please note There are several references in both the Old and New Testaments about donkeys, fish and farm animals. Apart from Noahâ??s assignment, where rabbits may have been included on the Ark, there is no reference to their importance; Easter or otherwise.
