The warning that never was
The Strange Orb From Space

NASA science officer Ned Spackle was finding the protective suit he wore extremely restrictive, and extremely hot, but he knew it was a necessary precaution. He very hesitantly approached the strange, glowing orb that had lit up the city skies as it streaked through the darkness on its way to earth. His searching eyes spotted an access panel and opened it. What he saw terrified him; it meant the end of mankind. He had to warn people. He was reaching for the phone when a strange laser shot into Ned’s face, he felt searing pain and Ned ceased to be.
