The Best Is Yet To Come

by bob cullen

The greatest truth I know 'bout time,
Is, the best is yet to come.
We can't change what happened yesterday,
To think you can's plain dumb.

So, aim your ev'ry moment at tomorrow,
Dismiss what belongs from your past.
Disappointments don't make memories,
Pleasures are all that truly last.

So, live your life believin',
Even in tough times we can survive.
Learned many lessons from my Mum,
Truth is, the best is yet to come.

Sometimes we see through blinkers,
Can't see blue skies through misty rain.
Good times are in the future,
Smiles will ride your face again.

So, when the problems pile high,
When you're down an' feelin' glum
Just think of the words of your Mum,
An' smile, the best is yet to come
