Why don't we like old media?

Old Media For The Young

by Kristen Rose Ulrich

As a millennial, I am not amused by modern internet-based TV. I have an iPhone, iPad, and a laptop. However, I do not understand why people like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Other than a few key movies that I love, I do not use these websites.
I realize that I am biased because I have a certain difficulty. When it comes to passing the time, I have trouble deciding what to do at times. I like to watch a few shows, write poetry and articles, and watch YouTube on my iPad.
New television requires you to constantly make decisions after each show. You always have to find the next one. If you just leave one station that you like on, then you don't have to constantly decide and change to the next one.
I like Nick at Nite. Most of the night, Friends is on. Then it changes to: Mom, Mike and Molly, and Young Sheldon. I like all of these shows. So I just leave this station on, and I am entertained, even if I wake up in the middle of the night.
Even though I love my generation, and the technology that we have been offered, I think that it has spoiled us with too many choices. That is how you get decision fatigue and burn out. Just a thought.
