Overcoming the language barriers

Letting everyone hear them in their own language.

Young and old heard the good news. Jesus is alive!

Salvation was theirs to have and receive,

Pending their belief in Jesus Christ.

It lives within all those who choose to believe.

Receiving Jesus as our Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit.

It instructs us in God’s Word and shows us how to live.

Tongues of fire were seen, falling onto all the disciples.

Peter preached to the crowd and told them about Jesus,

Explaining that Jesus went to Heaven, but gave us the Holy Spirit.

Now, do not be afraid, but believe in Jesus. Turn back to God.

Then you, too, will be given the Hopy Spirit and be saved.

Everyone who chooses to believe will be filled with the Spirit.

Children, men and women, believed and were baptized.

Oh, what a sight that must have been to behold!

So many people hearing God’s Word in so many languages! 

Three thousand or so, believed in Christ and were baptized.
