While the band was playing,

Me and my gal were swaying.

You whispered in my ear,

Just loud enough for me to hear,

"I love you"

We held each other near,

Again You whispered in my ear.

As the band continued to play,

I once more heard you softly say,

"I love you"

By the time we stopped dancing

And while we were romancing,

"I love you

When the night came to an end,

I could no longer call you just a friend.
