A dark sonnet

Pieces

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.

She sits beside the pond, in deep despair,
Where once the two would stroll as Man and Wife.
But severed was their love by his affair,
With wounds to be repaid by his own knife.

She knew her rage would win before she followed,
The knife gripped tight and ready as he kissed her.
But what the night revealed could not be swallowed,
When, in her husband's arms, she saw her sister.

The blade was in before a thought could catch,
The cobbled streets ran red with every slash.
And when her sister begged, she struck the match,
To watch her burning body turn to ash.

And now, he rests where first the two did bond,
In pieces, at the bottom of their pond.
