A view from the 11th storey window

All I see is gray

Gray sky, gray water, and gray sand

But looking closer

The sky is whitish gray, with the heaviest gray at the bottom

Like a fat belly hanging down

Does that make it gray white?

Is the first color the dominant one?

The ever-moving sea is gray with green undertones.

As if the painter put the green down first

And then overlaid with gray.

Then comes the ever-moving

Unlike a page out of a child's coloring book

There is constant movement.

Is it grayish green or greenish gray?

Now the earth, the sand on the beach

Some might say tan, taupe, or café au lait

You cannot imagine how many shades of brown there are

Between the darks and the lights

My favorite shade is brown sugar.

It is light brown with a crystalline overlay

Then comes a medium shade of gray

These shades and crystals are mixes.

But not so much that they lose their distinctive color

Mother nature has turned a drab gray pallet.

Into a beautiful kaleidoscope of mixed colors,

Crayola does not add the …ish to its color labels.

Maybe there was not room on the crayon.

In the 64-crayon box, there is green blue, and blue green
