A true story about a turtle
Snapping Turtle
by Brenda Strauser

During my walk today, I saw a huge snapping turtle slowly crawling across the road. I didn't get too close because this type of turtle is known to be combative. It is a prehistoric-looking creature.
The brown shell had algae scattered over it. His claws looked very sharp and dangerous. The turtle had a thick head and powerful jaws.
On my way back, I felt a pang of distress when I saw some blood oozing from the turtle. It was obvious a vehicle had driven over the turtle and it was dead. Some people have little regard for life.
