He Keeps Coming and Knocking
by Jim Lorson Sr
must close and lock the window tight to deter the creatures of the night must keep my drapes drawn after the end of daylight until dawn under my covers I must hide until the dark of night does subside there it is, the tapping at my window hoping it is tree branches, just don't know whatever this may be, I hear those throaty sounds and from a far I hear those 'were hounds' I now know what he wants and what he is about and why he wants me, he leaves no doubt he is the master of all those living dead can never have me, why? I live in God's grace instead a rooster crows for the daylight as this monster will try again tonight this will not be the final sequel even though he knows in God's faith I dwell he will never stop trying to get my soul for all we humans it is his ultimate goal |
