I wrote this ode to my favorite hot dog stand while I sat on a red stool on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, eating "hot dogs, French fries, lemonade" with "my brother, my sister, my partner." I focused on the moment and the memories it evoked--my late mother, Yeller Gal, who baked deserts from the fruit of a backyard lemon tree. I wished she was there at Skooby's to enjoy a simple meal with her family.
