A humorous post break up in Paris

After the French Man

by tollyfaye

Croissants, chocolate and a bit of good wine
Mademoiselle was aching to feel fine.

Her lover had left her for a much younger model
A haircut, new clothes, she made herself coddled.

Even a picture or a print of the Eiffel Tower
Reminded her of when he brought a flower.

For the last time they had eaten stinky cheese and crusty bread
Move forward she must get that French man out of her head.

The lady had lost track of her roots
and tugged on her dusty boots.

It was time to flirt with farmers at a country line dance,
After all, you should know, it is Paris, Kentucky--not France.

Once on a road trip, we ended up in Paris, Kentucky. We had lunch, walked in a park, took pictures with the Paris sign. Spoke in our best French accents. We enjoyed our unexpected find so much, and remember it fondly. If you like small southern towns it is a good one. Stop there just to take a selfie with the sign. hehehe hahaha *in my best laughing French accent.
