My Foulest Flaw

by HarryT

Oh gosh, I am far from perfect in so many ways.
My foulest flaw, however, might be called interruptus,
no, not the kind that just popped into your mind
rather it occurs when others are speaking and
I have something vital to say. I can’t hold back,
I interrupt abruptly, my words gushing forth…

You see, I think my opinions are more important
not waiting for others ever to finish their say.
It is a flaw that I know I must work on day after day.
I recognize I must attempt to delay my interruptus.
When in conversation, I need to practice more restraint to
wait and listen open-mindedly until others have their say.
