A chapter in the book A Four Letter Word Called Love

Dancing on Eagles' Wings

by fm wright

To outright borrow from the age old cliche
when he did perchance to come my way;
it was true love at the very first sight:
putting me head over heels in purest delight.
Then making our vows and exchanging our rings
I'm found gaily dancing on eagles' wings.

Though it's been a whole since our honeymoon
we still manage to remain in tune;
even when the times have been a bit tough:
as on more than one occasion I've had enough.
Then we kiss and I hear the angels sing
I'm found gaily dancing on eagles' wings.

With the passing of each day I realize
that the binds which together us tie
have made our union so much more the stronger
as our love only grows increasingly fonder;
for while the closer to each other this brings
I'm found gaily dancing on eagles' wings.

Though admitting it isn't perfect the teller focuses on the good times having chosen to love.
