A poem inspired by Claude Monet

Springtime in the Orchard

by RodG

Here in the orchard where I sit
a floral choir sings for me
a hymn that only I can hear
with blended voices--harmony!

Here in the orchard where I sit
white apple trees sway in the breeze,
line dancers of a stage revue,
an audience of one to please.

Here in the orchard where I sit
on thick new grass, uncut, lush green,
red-breasted robin visits me
and boldly pecks for worm unseen.

Here in the orchard where I sit,
I sense God's presence everywhere--
in flowers, trees, and whisp'ring breeze--
and I'm aware He's truly there.
