The Unmasking

In the good old days, before Covid 19
Our faces were wild and free—
Out there, uncovered, for better or worse—
And we could all breathe easily.
 
But with the “unmasking” that’s going on
It would suit me just fine if “they”
Would make a pronouncement, insisting that I
Be promptly unmasked, today!
