Dreamed By Night...

I am young and eating breakfast,
tasty food, Green Eggs and Ham.
Ravenously gobbled up,
I share with Sam I Am.

A few moonlit nights later,
shared The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Riding down the Mississippi,
I found myself all in.

Danger lurked around each bend,
on this river with all it's glories.
I had the greatest times in life,
getting lost in all it's stories.

Before too long, and way too soon,
my tomboy dreams would end.
That's when I met Little Women,
Jo March was my best friend.

At times when I get lonely,
four sisters comfort me.
I live my life beside them,
I'm part of the family.

On my next adventure,
Lewis and Clark and I,
were guided by Sacagawea,
under miles of western sky.

We made some great discoveries,
connected east and west.
Crossing mountains, rivers, trails,
was excitement at it's best.

Later I'd wake up from dreams,
losing them is what I dread.
So I write each one in The Notebook,
that I keep next to my bed.
