Love the Great Hunter

Love Poem Poetry Contest Contest Winner

They say love is perfect,
true, natural, and nice.
But, I’m here to tell you,
Love is also cold as ice.
~
Love hunts in the sun,
and seduces at night.
It uses a sweet nymph
To get you at first sight.
~
You think you are strong.
In love, you’ll not fall.
But, Love uses soft eyes,
to make fools of us all.
~
Love has many forms,
A shy maiden who smiles.
She'll whisper sweet words,
and entrap with her wiles.
~
Love can move mountains;
make the world go ‘round.
It brings tears to a clown,
and sends Kings to ground.
~
Love has overthrown gods.
It’s witty, wicked, and wise.
It has formed great families,
and caused others’ demise.
~
Please, listen to what I say,
because each word is true.
Love has finally caught me,
and now its eyes are on you.
