Hello Tom.

I bought one lottery ticket several years ago and have regretted spending that dollar ever since. I didn't win. In fact, I didn't have any of the numbers that were in the lottery string. Not one number matched anything. I actually took the lottery ticket as change in a convenience store because my items purchased came to $7.11. the clerk thought it was lucky, and I said why not. Now I know why not.

Hey Robert,
I would say that if that one instance prevented you from ever purchasing another lottery ticket, it was a good investment. The most gambling I do is when I go commercial fishing. There are so many things that can go wrong, it's a wonder anyone does it. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.

Thanks for reviewing this story. I've never been in a casino. There aren't any where I live, so I'm not even tempted. I'd prefer to give the money to a worthwhile charity and wait for the return to come.

Ha, most entertaining, author. I can imagine winning that sum of money would be a huge burden. I suppose the thing to do would be to set up a trust fund, earning money, and have it managed by a lawyer who would distribute it fairly, and then get out of town quickly. Friends and family have a way of acting weird around that much cash.

Thanks for reading and reviewing my story. Actually, I think after the initial joy of finding that he had more money than he could spend, reality would set in. Having so much at your disposal would be an awesome responsibility. How much to do you give to family, to charities, to friends in need? I've read that many of the folks who won the lottery ended up broke, with family problems, drug abuse issues and a number of other problems. Some wished they had never won. The most sure way to hang on to wealth in my opinion, is to earn it over time. Thanks again for your great comments.

Thanks for reviewing my story. I suppose we all wish that we could come into unexpected wealth, especially when money is tight. I've read that those who won the lottery though, by and large wish that they hadn't. It caused more problems than it solved.

Ah, this is the dream of so many people. To buy a lottery ticket simply on a whim and then hit the jackpot. I think many would buy several of the cars pictured here in all different colors.

Thank you. I personally don't waste my money on the lottery, but had the idea for the contest in the shower and decided to go for it.
