A touching tribute to writers now not contributing for the truth is much can be learnt from them.
BUT we do still have you and I enjoy your poetry and chance to learn from you as well.
Blessings

What a lovely tribute this is! It's always nice to be remembered for what we've written, and you've done a terrific job with this poem. You know who I miss? Yvette Roger! She was SO clever and creative. I LOVED her work. We're in touch, through texts and emails, and I always try to entice her to return...but so far, I have not been successful in my endeavors. Thankfully, I am nothing if not tenacious in this life!! xo

Aw, Gloria and Jim will be back again. No worries. The others are laying low and perhaps they're in a different season. That's okay. I've been wondering about Debra White. She's usually stirred for the 30 day poetry challenge in April. Rooting for you all.
Sending you my best today as always,

Hi Sugarray!
Those you have named certainly stand on auspicious ground in this community. All of their works are a delight to read and always leave us yearning for more.
Perhaps you will inspire a flurry of poetic endeavors with this piece! We can all hope.
Well done!

Hello Kim... Thanks so much. I have heard from Robyn that she will return soon, and of course, Jim has posted his Apologia... he is such a fun poetry teacher and I've been privileged to take many classes. I understand that Tony has taken time off to publish/rewrite his book. Hopefully, we will see their writing soon :)

I applaud you for this, Melissa. I, too, have been missing the stellar words of some of our FanStorians. But since I have been so busy myself, I was hoping that it was just a passing lack of interest. I did wonder if something has happened to off put some of our members. I hope not.
I'm sure your words will be appreciated by those that you mention. Thank you for your efforts to revive.

Hello sweet Deb... I don't know of anything that has been 'off putting' but, it seems life has gotten in the way of writing for a few of them. I know I took a break too, but its time to gather the wagons and enjoy our FS community. LOL. Thank you.

I agree I am waiting for the good writers to come forward and write some stellar work. There are plenty of posts yet most of them lack the artistic arrangement of the work of the poets and writers of last year and the years past. Thank you for addressing this issue of great work lacking in this fanstory community. Let us hope the great writers and poets will step forward when they read this post.

What can I say to this plea for a return to the glory that was Rome?
Apologia - A Sonnet.
The mantle that Elijah onetime wore,
eventually, would come tumbling down
to fall across Elisha's shoulders broad
when he inherited the prophet's crown.
My moving finger wrote and, having writ,
moved on to write some more, and all the while
when e'er it starts to write another bit
it alters both its content and its style.
But what may grieve one fan creates another
and constant change can keep old writers young.
Necessity is of invention mother,
so up we climb life's ladder, one more rung!
Now, having tried both poetry and prose,
my mind might chase my pen where e'er it goes.

How delightful, dear Jim, you are an outstanding poet as well as a superb author. Sometimes we get to see your poetry in class, but usually you are gracing us with your teacher side and only talk about ours. Thank you for the sonnet... its delightful. Hugs,

It did occur to me to post it now you have had a preview. I wondered if then it might elicit a response from some of those others you mention in your poem.

I hope so!!! Have you even heard from Tony? Gloria has posted a little while ago... also, Robyn reviewed it and said it was her first day back, so hopefully, she will post soon. I think everyone would love to read your sonnet!!!

Yes. I hear fro Tony regularly but he did tell me he was taking a break from posting for a while to work in his novel. I will post that poem of mine later today.

There are many FanStorians that have tired of writing on FanStory, Melissa. They either seek another place to write or are writing books or writing their memoirs. I grew tired, depress is a better word. I didn't see much use in writing with the world as it is, but I'm still here. I like your style. Thank you for sharing.

Poor ole western rodeo writer got snubbed again but that's al right and mention of Sally Law once again, she's our blind sleuth who gets her man, Miss Dolly who brightens our world with wonderful flower poetry.
