I like it I don't usually comment on prose as I usually write poetry myself but I thought I would have a go at reading some. She certainly is better off without him.
P.S. Take a look at this line:-
'Not any more, I told her there never could be anything between us I while she was still with Dan.'
I think you have a slight error.

The writing is solid. The back and forth between Steve and Jan is excellent. I thought your writing shared the emotional turmoil of the breakup so well. Still be friends? Yikes! Great way to end the dialogue!
