What a beautifully written letter to God, and whether prayer in the form of a letter or with the words of one's mouth, the Lord still hears and nobody has more compassion than God. A beautifully composed letter and entry in this contest, well done Iza, good luck, blessings Roy

One of my favorite lines this is profound: " Love your life exactly as it is because even the hard times are part of our spiritual growth." For those who are religious and not spiritual this will make no sense. There is a danger of us sabotaging our happiness. It sounds like you are very aware of all of this and are moving on productively.

Hi Liz, getting older had taught me that happiness is not always good for your health:)
-
good point...I will add, the happiness when it turns to life's disappointments is not healthy either.
As as an adult child I learned not to have much excitement or happiness because most things didn't ever turn out right. Now I just leave things open, maybe things will turn out right and maybe they won't. That's the way that works.

An honest and authentic talk with God. You are right. We would not appreciate our many blessings if there was no other experience to compare or contrast them with. And we would definitely become smug and independent from our heavenly Father. Best wishes for the contest.

I enjoyed reading your poem. The poem was an inspiration to be thankful for what I have. I complain too, but I am thankful for what God has done for me. The poem is well written. Great job.

Hi Teri,
Thank you so much for reviewing my letter and for pointing out that tinny mistake that now I have finally corrected.

Iza dear, this letter to God is so you! I think that's what I love about it. I'm sure God will love this too. As for the committee, who cares what they think? You have acquired much wisdom and walk humbly with your God in your sweet faith. I admire you. Thanks so much for sharing this today.
A winner in my eyes. :+)

Interesting philosophical discourse. You bring up lots of issues here about accepting the path God puts you on, adversity and all, and of accepting yourself for who He made you , in spite of the things you wish you weren't or wish you had. You speak of trying to find a path through selfishness to some kind of relationship with society in which you contribute instead of just receiving benefits. You speak of how good times can lead to a sense of entitlement. We need the tough times to toughen us up and remind us that we live by grace. estory

Now that's a message that God would give us. And you're right - if we have too much, we become lazy and unfaithful and ungrateful to God. As it says in Proverbs 30:
"Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?"
I especially liked "The norm today is single, mingle, and oopsie oopsie" and feel so sad for the kids!
Great commentary on the world today and the right response to love the life He gave us. Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. There are some harsh realities in this entry, but true. Yes, we need some issues in our lives, so we relish the good things. God is always there to help us. I feel we need to return to the family values of yesteryear in order to get back on the right track. Good luck with the contest.
Only then did she realize that she was living the Pura Vida! (quite a few 'that' in this post. Here's an example of one that can be deleted.)

A wonderful talk with God and one we should all pay attention to. We take life for granted and forget that it is merely a gift to be cherished. We need to learn to love the good and endure the bad because He is always urging us to do better. Well done, Iza.
Smiles, Carol
