Sadness and loss seem to be the themes here with no light to help assuage the melancholy. Even the red wine has been consumed and we're left in darkness. Well done, Gypsy, on another excellent verse! Take care Debbie

Well a love that is no longer there because the lover has gone, very real human emotions that we have related to at some point in our lives. The color scheme of pale light and dark fits the theme of your poem very well, and the imagery is well depicted.

this was a very sad poem. Yeaning for someone who either doesn't return the feeling or is away and unattainable is a terrible feeling. You made me feel the loneliness and taste the wine. Great poem. Gretchen

At first, I thought this was a contest entry. It was because I was reading your notes as if they were the prompts for the contest lol
I'm trying to figure out where the red wine comes in. I think they are stargazers drinking wine and then the stars left the sky. And to add insult to injury they had consumed all of the red wine too.
I really think that was clever having the stars take the guy with them. That was a clever line.
