Once you said Rachelle lost a hat and was still laughing, your story lost any sense of believability! (Just kidding, but I know Rachelle takes her hats very seriously!)
In fact, your characters are charming and believable, and the sweetness of the characters just adds to the humor of your panicking at the man with the scythe, and expecting to be the first victim when they turn your story into a horror movie.
I'm enjoying your and Rachelle's stories, and will continue reading them as they're posted.

I mean, how fast is this buggy moving? You could leap to your death. Not 2 miles an hour, for sure. Maybe a scraped knee, lol. Rachelle's face is planted in the mud; I can visualize all this perfectly. What great fun this was to read.

This continues to amuse me. Rachelle does make an entrance and her laughter permits their hosts to laugh. The guy with the scythe is another matter as you don't cut any crop in the rain.

this was fabulous! I can see the whole scene played out before me. Your fear of the guy with the scythe reminds me of when I was transferred from Key West to Charleston South Carolina in the early seventies. Before we moved, I had watched the movie Deliverance, and was scared to death to go hunting or fishing without my shotgun. I had a pair of military issue green coveralls and I bought myself a straw hat, hoping if I ran into a still in the woods, I might be able to pass myself off as a local. This was great gal. Well done.

Have you seen the series including a part called "The Shunning?" A 3 part series about a girl born on the English side but given up to an Amish couple at birth.
