I am surprised, you didn't get 6-stars for this wonderfully written poem. There are some memorable lines in this poem:

Her glasses now allow for sight;
Her mind is merging with her soul
to find a peace she hopes will last

You are amazing, my friend. I hope you are feeling better.

An actress reconciles, like we all do as we age, with the meaning of events that occurred during her younger days. This is an interesting poetic, and thought-provoking look at the thoughts during the aging process. Nicely written, rhythmic poem.

-Thanks for sharing the artwork, notes, and poem, Pam.
-A well written poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-You also tell a good story.
-You do a good job with the opening verses,
and then let us know the doctors couldn't find
a reason for her pain.
-She recalls the things she had liked, like
moonlit nights and ocean waves.
-A good observation:
"Defenses are so hard to find."
-A very good concluding line.
-Well done.

Children these days are bold and forward compared to how we were as children long ago. I much prefer being an adult to a child as you have no control as a child. Fine rhymes and metre Pam, a poignant write, love Dolly x

The classic ageing actress who's lost the beauty of her younger years, not only her own but in all her perception of life. When she can reconcile the past with the present then she can find the peace she craves. A well crafted verse with pleasing flow. My only niggle is the contracted fin'ly in the last stanza. Might it be better, perhaps, to say: At last inside her mind she knows....? Thanks for sharing, Pam. Take care Debbie

You're welcome! I'm pleased that line worked for you. It gives a nice strong start to the final stanza and replaces fin'ly which doesn't read too well.

Personally I don't find it so bad getting older, as long as you retain your physical and mental health.
But there are some who can't face to lose their eternal youth. A well written poem, Pam. Ulla xcx

This poem has a lot of complex thought. I don't think that getting old is a bad thing, rather older people have so much to share! I do find it extremely sad when their mind goes. Lost in memories, lost in time, trapped inside their head-it's all very sad. What's even more unfortunate is that young people also have many mental illnesses these days. Mentality is a double edged sword. Thank you for sharing

Getting old and suffering from a lack of the much desired attention is always difficult, most especially if you were once highly acclaimed. As you begin to acknowledge and accept that it is no longer about you, how you might wish that it still was.

The trouble with being young is that it hides an immature soul, and the problem with being old that it can hide a wise and knowledgeable soul, that the lined and not so beautiful exterior captures the attention to look beyond the the surface, this is beautifully written Pam, in your usual faultless work, well done, blessings Roy
