Hi Pam, you are absolutely right. I love Dolly for the fact that she knows how to laugh at herself so well. She was never a blonde but she isn't dumb either. And as far as the boobs go, I don't know why anyone would choose to do that, as I have always been well endowed but not very big otherwise. It is really hard on the back. LOL. But she is still an amazing woman, no doubt. I have nothing but the greatest respect for her. And her laugh cracks me up.

Thanks Ulla. I like Dolly and that is why I did this. I love her uncanny way she has of laughing at herself. I love to laugh at myself because feeling sorry for myself is not an option.

I did see an interview once where she was laughing a the fact that she is not a true blonde as she admits to being a brunette. Also about her breast implants but she had a reduction since then, tho. Either way, she isn't dumb as she is worth maybe billions of dollars. I think she is also a wonderful singer. She never portrays to be anything but what she says she is. I admire that about her. Every single human being who has ever lived has some idiosyncrasies that make them who they are. No two people are like, not even identical twins. This is a very well written poem for a unique set of circumstances and a challenging contest. Dolly, as you have implied, has many very strong characteristics and character qualities that have enabled her to become the woman that she is today.

Oh, I must remember that you are a man of the cloth. You have such a delicate way of phrasing things. And then me as the silly sister, I just kind of blurt them out.. I think it's pretty easy for me to remember that if everybody would be just like me the world would be a very very very boring place. Sometimes I get a little too hung up on words and their meanings but I try to keep those thoughts on the inside. I try to always allow people to be themselves and I try never to judge people but allow God to cast that ballot. What I know is: God is full of Compassion, Mercy, and Grace.

I absolutely agree Debi. She is very self-effacing and continues to be an incredibly marvelous strong woman. She is not only aware of the stereotypical remarks and assessments people make about her but she embraces them and, as you say, laughs at herself. Take care, it is 11:36 p.m. where I am and I'm about ready to go to bed. Three of our grand children, aged 8, 5 & 3 have been with us for the past three days while their parents celebrated their 14th anniversary in South Carolina near where we used to live. These three wonderful creatures will be picked up and whisked away by their parents tomorrow afternoon. We will have a six day of rest and then we get the other three for approximately four or five days. Pray for us Debi. :-) :-) :-)

Thanks Helen, and I appreciate your feedback and letting me know that I did it wrong. But I didn't see any place in the prompt we were given that says their name should be in the first line. So that may be the correct way on the original clerihew, but I just went with what we were given.
I hope that didn't come off as disrespectful in any way. I certainly didn't mean for it to sound that way.
