This was a good chapter in that we learn Eve's story and wonder if her parents were so bad or if Oliver has totally brainwashed her into believing she needs no one from her past.

So Oliver makes sure nobody has any contact with the outside world. It is very much a controlled environment and a commune. I really wish Danielle and Callum would get out of there while they still can. I am worried about their safety.

Creepier and creepier! Definitely a sect with a charismatic leader and a monopoly on the truth (as Google defines). What was he doing out in the night preying on young homeless people? Danielle is piecing all this together with clarity. She's a smart young woman (not so sure about Callum though). Some edits: and these boy(s) came up to me (no apostrophe); Mary will be able to find us something (else) to do.
This is an excellent, lucidly expressed story in which the answers are still unclear but the truth is beginning slowly to emerge. Well done! Debbie

Definitely not a good sign, Jacob. Cutting people off from their friends and family is always a red flag thing. It's typical of cults that want to control their members. Good insight into the cult mindset.
Take care,
Rhonda

I can't understand where these people are getting the money to support everyone. It seems no one has a job, and so far they haven't asked for money. I would think she would have gotten more answers by now. I can't imagine Callum being willing to stay unless he might be falling for Eve. I look forward to reading you posts.

A sad story about Eve, I don't know how parents can withdraw their support of their kids, Oliver comes along and saves her from a bunch of thuggish drunken or drugged youths, mocking and suggestively approaching her, beautifully written, blessings Jacob, blessings Roy

And now she learns that once here no one goes away...either by their choice or something else. It sounds like it might have been the best alternative for Eve, but it certainly limits her life. Well told chapter, Jacob.
