Hello Rhonda.
Despite the slow progress, I'm happy that things seem to be heading in the right direction. Wayne has experienced a traumatic event. Your description suggests he's doing well. As human beings, we like things to change quickly. We live life in moments, taking each breath as it comes. It's not always easy to remember that.

He is so very fortunate, but he will have memory problems. I hope you have time to relax because you are under a great deal of stress and teaching school as well as caring for a husband who has probably never been real willing to be cared for before is a super challenge. My prayers are with you.

As much as I love your incredible stories, your primary duty, as I, one of your biggest fans, think that you should be taking care of your very lucky Mister. Your writing will never take the place of your significant lover. You will notice that I did not say other. I am sure that to you, he is much more than other.

I can feel your disbelief yet that you still have your husband. It is like an overwhelming kind of feeling that you have. Like you should pinch yourself to make sure he is really still with you. That you aren't dreaming. Am I close?
I know that feeling because twice I almost lost Glen. Once was his heart. It was 100% blocked and they said he shouldn't have lived through the attack and the other time was when he had blood clots that went right through his heart and into his lungs. They still aren't sure how they did that and didn't kill him. They just said that it wasn't his time to go.
So to hear you talk about Wayne like that, with that overwhelming grattitude to God for it, those memories came pouring into my memory bank and heart and I could feel the same wonderful gratified thankfulness as you have. Partly for you and still partly for myself.
Bless you, dear friend and I hope all continues to improve and you don't have to ever go through anything like this again. Wayne, please keep getting better as you have so much and so many to live for. God Bless all of you!! Love, Debi

Thanks for sharing both pictures, Rhonda. He looks right at home in the second one and has a great smile. Thanks for the notes and your update. I imagine it is helping you get through this, as well. It is wonderful that you can work remotely for your classes.
No need to apologize for another story about Wayne. You need to heal and share your thoughts with friends here. It is very important for you to share your feelings. I also think it is good that you and Wayne are sharing the experience together. It helps both of you. I think that what Wayne experienced with his uncle was a great motivator for him while he was in the tractor.
A very nice tribute to the first responders. They are an amazing group of people who can handle these traumatic situations. Thanks for sharing this, and thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you for sharing this. I guess I'm lucky that I was out out. I don't remember anything. The thing I can remember is
buying a beer to take home at a mini market about ten minutes up the hill from my accident site, but whether the memory is from that day or sometime before the wreck I don't know, as it was my routine on payday for a while. I understsnd his frustration at trying to remember, as at first I tried to remember, but I gave that up after a month or so. Just glad he survived

This makes me feel very tearful because it was such a trauma to live through and yet Wayne's determined to make sense of it and remember every single detail. I think this will be very important, carthartically, in his recovery. It's as if he wants to free himself rather than allow the experience to remain buried irretrievably in his subconscious. I hope the pain can begin to lessen too soon. Thanks for sharing this latest update, Rhonda. And my very best wishes to you both. Take care Debbie. PS Who would have thought, when you started this book, that there was going to be another chapter ahead like this...?

Just getting out of bed knowing what both of you will be facing is difficult enough, but knowing that if you don't stay positive and keep moving forward, the chance you have been given could slip away. Lean on your friends and each other and know that everyone cares and offers their prayers because God has blessed your life and has plans for you and Wayne. My thoughts and prayers always,
Smiles, Carol
