Great sentiments, and a true solution to getting through the lean times. We trade peaches with our neighbors (well, we used to) for vegetables in summer. I have two friends with whom I buy-in on large quantities of items to get discounts. Such things as toilet tissue, bar soap and breakfast cereal are cheaper in large quantities so we shop together two or three times a year to stock up. It's always a fun day out too, and we consider it cheap entertainment. I think your piece is good advice, if folks haven't forgotten how to approach one another. Adam

Adam, thank you for reviewing; all is not lost...yet. The rich will not get richer they need to learn how to be poorer first. Love Kace XX

I enjoyed reading this poem and it is a shame that more people can't be accepting of not having to have all the material trimmings to life. Look forward to reading more soon.

Oh, you haven't heard - all is saved. The Republican National committee has announced they will donate the $150,000 worth of designer suits bought for Palin during the campaign to the needy!!! You feel foolish for writing this poem now, don't you?? LOL You have written a most thought-provoking poem - thank you :-) Brooke

and her whole schtick is that she's just a working mom from a regular family - how hypocritical - back when I still had my job, it took me four years to earn that much take home pay - and I obviously couldn't spend it all on clothes, what with rent and food and all.

Excellent poem reminding us of the needs felt everywhere, and some of the remedies that will help insure a future for our grandchildren.
Your rhymes are strong, images are very good, and it reads easily.
I like the positive note you interject.
Very well done.

This is a wonderful reminder to us all that the world had become a place that was too wasteful with all it's resourses and it's time to tighten up a bit, share and barter are a fine way to look at it. I agree wholeheartidly. Excellent work Kay

This said a great deal, and unfortunately, too true. The free flow and creative rhyme scheme worked well. Might suggest though in free verse to omit the punctuation at the end of sentences. Just a thought. Perfect ending with "I decided on roses and lots more". No spag found or structure changes to suggests. Well done and enjoyable read. Joyce
