I agree with every thing you say in this write. Life is too short to be wasted on those who chose to live in conflict within themselves and with everyone around them. Real friends are those who are always complimenting you and you are always proud of them and their behavior. Never forget to tell them. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I am so late in responding. You may being late in responding, but I am later. Sometimes I just have to write and other things get pushed aside. I truly appreciate all of my fans, even when I get distracted from telling them so. Take care. Thank you and have a wonderful day~Debbie

I struggle to deal with those type of people myself. I also struggle with parents who won't parent. I see this often at my school.

I generally can get along with almost everyone. There is one woman that doesn't like me and insults me regularly in a passive /aggressive way. I just don't want that kind of drama in my life. Thank you~Debbie

Hi Debbie,
did I relate to this? Yes indeed, 1000%. I think when all is said and done, we're over the games that people play, whether it be mind, or otherwise. I think that you and I think very much alike... Right down to the extract from Desiderata, which I have hanging on my bedroom wall, just to reinforce what I need to know at times.
A beautifully written poem... Love your heart... Life's just too short for the games!
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

This verse tells a story where others may feel the same way.
But the rude and crude have no real consideration of any but themselves. Their actions reveal insecurity of spirit, weakness of mind and the need to belittle others in order to magnify themselves.
Agree that is not safe to judge, but as an old preacher used to say, "One can be a fruit inspector."
By their fruit you shall know them...

I think you are right about trying to elevate themselves. In doing so, they tend to push others away. Thank you for your understanding review~ Debbie

I think it's better to be alone than with the wrong kind of people. We do have our tribe and I'm glad we have this space here to share our views, without fear.

Definitely agreed. I just don't have the patience or tolerance to deal with all that drama. My beagle is a good listener and always here, along with all my Fanstory friends. See, I am never alone. Thank you~Debbie

Me neither. That's great.

Good heavens, "Desiderata" was the theme song for my high school graduation, and it was all the rage that year. I guess I am dating myself, lol, but I have always loved that song.
Your poem is beautiful, and I agree with a lot of your sentiments, especially not judging others. I can't say I haven't had drama in my life... but today in recovery I do enjoy the quietude, and serenity. Wonderful poem. :) Sandra

There's nothing wrong with going through life in a quiet serenity. This poem expresses such sentiments beautifully. The rhythm of the poem seems sound, but maybe a bit of spirited resistance to the vulgar arrogance of some people would've been nice.

Hello Debbie,
With silent majestic flow the poem ends with these words:
"Who am I to judge the way others live?
Or for them to judge me?
I prefer to remain in my life of
Writing, serenity and quietude"
Marvelous!
