I love all animals except spiders and snakes. My choice for the reptile would be as a belt, bag or shoes. Your words seem to paint a gentler image. Best wishes with your entry.

Well, when they're out it the wild, nothing prevents them from squeezing the life out of whatever they come across. But, except for very small children, most owners of these large species of snakes have been pretty lucky.
I've handled a 300 pound albino female python before. It was a pet belonging to my wife's uncle. I found it a bit...unnerving, to say the least.
Nice work! Good luck in the contest...

The snake charmer knows her pet. It is not if he squeezes her neck, but when. Never assume a wild creature will lose its wild ways. Besides, snakes do not have that great a brain. I hear some people makes snakes a part of their religion .It makes me wonder about the size of some human brains. Great work.

Excellent!
A well-expressed question in a poem as humans question the cruel acts a snake would carry out in the loving hands of a devoted owner.
I don't think I would let a snake hug me! No thanks.

Thanks for entering, mystery writer.
LOL at your message here, as who would want to be manipulated and 'charmed' into doing what they don't want to do?
You imply snakes aren't as bad as their bad press implies, and I agree entirely. It's sure not their fault they were born scary-looking to some. Maybe humans scare them more than they scare us. :-)
Good luck, Ted

Perfect picture.
You successfully broke what could have been a single sentence into three lines matching the haiku style.
Great!!
Wishing you the best.
