What a wonderful subject for an ode, and you state your beliefs clearly in an artist way. Excellent abab rhyming scheme and rhythm in your quatrains. Thank you for a thought provoking and inspirational piece.

This is a great ode to the soul poem. It has a nice ABAB rhyme scheme that makes it flow smoothly and the imagery from your words pays tribute to important role it plays in our lives. Good job and good luck!

You poem is full of wisdom but has an abundance of abstracts and platitudes and perhaps lack visual images. Prime image of course is the soul with all manner of religious innuendos. I believe we all have that projection called the soul even as we have an ego personality. It is a very concrete part of us. When we discover it, we bathe in the highest form of our awareness. Indeed it blesses us with a sense of true meaning. You say we are born in God's image. I say we need a belief in the concept of our souls to protect us from the savagery of our passions and our instincts. -Ekim777

This is a well-written poem about a well-conceived topic, and your "arguments" are persuasive. What's lacking for me in this poem is a clearer, more palpable understanding of exactly what is false ego (actually, to me, the word "false" isn't applicable. . . ego is ego) . . . in order to be convincing that false ego should be shed in favor of soul. Your poem definitely carries the "exultation" of the soul thru-out, in the "Ode" fashion. Good job & good luck in the contest.

'Ode to the Soul' is an exceptionally well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. God in His wisdom, originally gave each of us a pure and untainted soul. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.

The picture is a good start for this piece. After looking at the picture one gets interested in what the piece is all about. That is very well spelled out in the powerful word of the piece, I agree with the Author, if man would only follow his Godly soul, we would be much better off. Good post

I love your poem, and agree with your author notes 100 percent, we are taught the soul goes to heaven when we die, I always believed the soul was the God in us, we create as God, through our souls, blessings to you tonight!

A excellent statement of the philosophy you render unto us. I too think the soul is God for we must have His image in us to judge what we see in the world,

An ode to the "Soul" is a great idea and the poem has a creative way of approaching it, the poem reads like a prayer and sheds a lot of spiritual light, well done.
