Good consonance with the -s- sound in seems-saw-smile-say, -w- sound in when-walking. Great assonance in alone-home. Nice end rhyming in day-way, fine-mine, smile-while, go-know. I feel the heartbreak as I read the words of your powerful poem. Well written.

strong rhymes
nice alliteration in saw you smile and say
and when I'm walking
excellent use of enjambment to keep thoughts flowing line to line
A poignant expression of longing for a lost love. How wonderful that you shared such a powerful love that you still miss him this much so many years later :-) Brooke

A very good little poem here with words that say so much. Your word flow is good and rhyming as well, as you tell of being left alone is your loved one is called to heaven.

I can feel your loss after all these years. I extend my condolences to you. I enjoyed your poem but the more I look at the picture I'm not sure if its confusion, electrical impulses of a heart beat, tumble weed or what. Please don't take offense to my criticism of your choice of picture. I suggest a lonely lady with tears, or holding her head in despair. But if six stars were available I would give them to you for your poem. Terrie

I don't think we ever really get over the loss of a loved one. My mother lost my seven-year old sister in a tragic accident and never fully recovered. Time does soften the pain but the pain is always there. Beautiful, deeply moving poem that I am sure many can relate to.

thank you Sasha. I am glad you like this poem and sorry about your sister. I think losing a child is very hurtful and worse than anything. LOL The pain never goes away. Thanks Miss Sally

A heartfelt poem for your husband who looks over your shoulder and waits for you to come home. Soul mates are so special and we know earth is only the launching pad for our lives to be sorted - Karma sorted out, off we go to our real home, well done poet.

What a wonderful, melodic poem of remembrance, love, sadness and victory. Even while you acknowledge that the Savior called your husband home, the heart ache is still there. Well done, Carolyn
