I absolutely adore the way this author draws the reader into the stanza:
I felt you near today--
as the fingertips of nature
brushed my hair against my cheek
in a surreal morning breeze.
It's as if we were actually able to "feel" the essence of the event. Like we could close our eyes and be at that exact moment in time! Priceless.....

This is a stunning free verse and I do wish I had a 6 to give you for this. You convey such strong imagery in this one but it is the emotional imagery that took my breath away. I love the entire poem but this verse caused my heart to skip a beat:
I knew your kiss today
for a passing moment-
like the finest of wine
aged to perfection
I sipped your bittersweet love
Your flavor lingers on my tongue...
Absolutely lovely!

Comment from Joan E.
I admired your free-verse love poem. I particularly enjoyed your images of the "cushioned voice," "fingertips of nature" and "whispers of dawn". The "desire" comes through both your words and the artwork. Hugs and happy weekend- Joan

Jewell,
This is beautifully written, so romantic! I love your word choice which transports the reader with great imagery. 4th line - add e, loneliness. The presentation is excellent and there are nice drops of alliteration in sounds/sultry/sighs, whispers/wakened. Thanks for sharing - your poetry is an example of excellent poetry!!
God bless,
love Christine

You have been missing me I see :)I Loved the the power of the emotional longing expressed so exquisitely in your free verse offering Jewell. One can feel the heart ache, the muscles tighten and relax as the senses stroke and caress.
The whispers of dawn... indeed

Very nice job using descriptive words and shades to express the mood and tenor of the piece. I liked the sensuous feel of the poem as well. Good work.

What's especially resplendent about this poem, is that
it has both subtly spiritual overtones, yet with such
serenely sensual tone and imagery throughout. Can be
interpreted as both a realease of longing for loved one,
through still treasured memory, with still very intense
sensations celebrated; all in the backdrop of a truly
ascending dawn of anticipation and beloved patience.
Awesome Jewel, just awesome! You soar with this one!
