Such memories rekindled in your mind when you think of your favourite hot dog stand and food your Mother baked, I felt the passion within your words, love Dolly x

I love this poem on so many levels, Andre. The consummate poet that you are, as you sat on your red stools, three of the four of you "dined" on two levels: hotdogs and memories.
I almost pucker at the lemon tree which "fed" you siblings meringue pies and chiffon cakes ... but more importantly they were baked by your mother.
Your development of the range of colors here was marvelous, beginning with your mother's "Yeller Gal," to the color of the hot dogs you presently ate ... the same color Red as the tour buses that passed, tying you to the present moment.
And like all in life, Ice Cubes melt. Ah, but not before this poem snapshots the moment.
The greatest humor of all was your choice of genre for this poem.
Love it, Andre!

Awesome poem, Sis Cat!
California I hear is pretty cool and eating at such a place must have been a real treat. Wish your mom could have been there too.
But you made lemonade out of life's lemons. Congratulations on the win.

We ate our fries
one at a time
to pro-looong the moment
and we nibbled our red hot dogs
as red tour buses passed.
You go kooky with this and I LOVE that about it. I love the feeling that you bring the reader right to that spot, those hot dogs and lemonade sure sound good. A wonderful piece. Kindest regards my friend Meia x

No, Meia, it was more than luck. It was being aware of my surroundings at the moment. I began composing my poem in my head while I ate at Skooby's. Thank you for your review.

Wonderfully written poem!!
Reminded me of my teen-age years at Nathan's in New York!
Great choice of words--I could feel the tartness of the ice-cold lemonade and the saltiness of the hot dogs.
Great imagery, too. Really well done verse.
Thanks for bringing back such sweet memories.

This was a lovely trip down memory lane. So much that we did as teenagers can be evoked by just a smell or a picture.
Sadly they bring both the happy and the sad. Congratulations on your well deserved win
hugs

I really enjoyed this poem. Wonderful use of words and form on the page "one at a time" in a poem that flowed and created a snapshot for me too.
Very well done

G'day Andre.
Congrats on the big win, mate. What a fantastic and very clever presentation and a thoroughly deserving winner.
You've gone and made me all hungry now.
Think I'll head out and grab an "Init-iro (Hot-dog).
Great job.
Cheers Fez
