Hi Marilyn:
Emily has been a favorite of mine since high school. She was a woman who was definitely ahead of her time. I would have loved the opportunity to converse with her. How fascinating that would be. Thanks for the great comments.

Dear Kim, Great poem about Emily Bronte (Ellis Bell). I saw the movie Wuthering Heights, and it was a daring thing for a woman to write about at that time. I read "Jane Eyre" by her sister Charlotte, maybe Emily's middle name Jane contributed to the title. I love your poems about the characters of different figures. Good rhyme too. Donna

Hi Donna,
Thank you for this most exceptional review. Emily has long been one of my favorites. I fell in love with her characters when I was in high school and had to write an analysis paper on Wuthering Heights. I appreciate all of your comments and the generous six stars.

Such mystery and wonder and words, many words surround these sisters, and still today they intrigue us. You did very well with Trijan Refrain Kim and I love the way you tackled the window topic through Emily Bronte. Well done,
cheers,

Hi Valda,
I had to make it fit with my book theme lol and Emily has long been one of my favorites. I wish we could know all the secrets behind the windows of that home. I think Emily would be one of the most fascinating literary figures with which to converse. She was truly a forward thinker for the women of her day. Thanks for the wonderful comments.

This is a nice use of the Trojan Refrain in composing this poem and nice it is dedicated to Emily Bronte; well said about her objective, philosophy of life and thoughts; glimpses of which are there at the museum the poet refers to.

Kim,
I enjoyed your great poem with this difficult [at least for me] style. You make it look easy. I love your repeated lines & even the repeated line with a bit of variation at the start of the verses. Your poem gives much insight to EBronte.
I remember Wuthering Heights--a fave of mine.
Your extensive research is evident in the info in the verses. Many barely know her, but you share a good amount of info that lets readers know her a bit better.
Your image is awesome. I really like the English setting/gardens.
Your notes were great. Sad that she died o young.
Good job & thanks for sharing. Jan

Hi Jan,
Emily has long been one of my favorites. Thank you for all the gracious comments. I enjoyed reading about her family. At first I was going to make it about all three sisters, but I'm really partial to Emily and couldn't just give her one stanza lol Anne and Charlotte got to be pictured with her in the illustration, so they'll have to be happy with that :) I'm glad that you enjoyed the author's notes and history involved in this piece. She is one from history with whom I'd love to converse, just once anyways. As always, I appreciate your comments.

The art work is great.
Unfortunately in life
we live to learn
we write wonderful words
but our lives have to end one day.
I really liked reading this poem.

Well, day thirty and you finish with a remarkable trijan refrain!!! Loved the subject.... great word choices and a fitting end to NaPoMo. methinks!! My sixer is for the series you have presented throughout the month of April!! Thank you so very much for bringing me into this group, to enjoy all the efforts of the artists. It was not always an easy task for me, Life kept impeding on my time LOL, but a most pleasant interlude. You have given me a great deal of enjoyment, and I have loved reading your works (shall continue doing so long after this day) So a heap of gratitude to you!!

Hi Alf,
Thank you for this exceptional rating and review. We were treated to a tremendous selection of poetry from a diverse group this month. It has been fantastic exchanging thoughts and poetry with everyone. Several of us also participate in Poetry Potlatch each week. If you have the time and you'd like to join in the fun, you'll find us in the Challenges section of the forum. I'll be facilitating for the month of May. We practice whatever the style of the week is and then we all write with the same topic (in that style) on Saturdays at 6pm EST. There is nothing to join and no obligation and anyone is welcome.
I'm happy that you joined us for NaPoWriMo this year. I hope you'll join in the fun again next year. I appreciate all of your thoughtful comments.

Yes, Emily Bronte does seem rather enigmatic. I like how you use the imagery of the house hiding secrets and we readers wish we could peer inside and learn those secrets. Great use of the repetition in this form.

Hi lyenochka:
Emily is such an intriguing character. She has been one of my favorites since I was in high school. Yes, I believe that house holds many secrets. She is one I'd love to have a conversation with someday, what a precious experience that would be. Thank you for the excellent review.

Thank you once again for sharing your research and delightful poetry based on your curiosity and love of the language of poetry. It has been a joy to read your words these past 30 days. My favorite here:
With her own pen her passions flared,
what Catherine and Heathcliff dared --
with her own pen!
With her own pen!
What heights were reached beyond declared?
