I loved this! A great song! All your need is a tune to go with it. I also love the reference to Humpty Dumpty! I wish you luck with the contest! Best. Wishes, love Dolly x

Thanks for your kind review. I actually had Carrie Underwood in mind when I wrote this and my grandson, who is an artist and writes his own music, has requested that I send it to him and he is going to attempt to put it to music. We will see how it goes. Who knows? Stranger things have happened eh?

This is an excellent contest entry. It should do well. I've read several of the entr=eries in this contest. The competition is stiff. Good luck.

Very well-written song lyrics. When someone hurts us, it is best to move on and hope to find someone new. By the time he realize his mistake, it is too late and you know you can't look back.

Good picture, Really enjoyed this poem/song, it's very catchy, I can imagine everyone singing along. Picture in a locket everyone can relate to, I think you've got a winner here. MaggieF

thank you for sharing your lyrical poem about the loss of a love and moving on. I did have a problems with some of the rhymes; then and ran, and again and him, but I do realize that in song, you can change the emphasis of the syllable.
This made for a pleasant read, and a melody played in my head - a sure sign that the poem could be turned into a song,

I can't say as I blame you, Anonymous. After all, it's often been said that we don't know what we've got until it's gone.
Sometimes you simply cannot go back again, no matter how much you may want to.
You simply must keep moving forward (never straight!)...
Lovely lyrics, albeit, a bit sad.
Good luck with it.

Yes, indeed they have.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
Good luck!

Here are the lyrics that make the song of love that is not with the same person, now the person is changed so the picture; old love is replaced with new one, feeling so makes a song.

This is a terrific entry for the Song Lyrics contest. I can picture this being sung by a female country artist like Carrie Underwood.
Well written with great rhyming, your lyrics tell a story of a gal who is moving on from a lover who turned his back on her. Now it's payback time. He wants her back, and she says no. "That picture in my locket isn't you" is my favorite line.
Good luck in the contest with this entry. I luv it! - - Connie
