What a nice review, thank you, Pat. The Lord is there for us, whatever our emotion... we are so lucky to appreciate His comfort.
Comment from June Sargent
A very touching and poignant piece that captures the sadness of loss and yet ends on a note of hope. The green background you chose with the illustration of the song bird symbolizes to me the hope of seeing the loved one again. I enjoyed these sentiments.

This is something that you should write more often, LisaMay. You pen these words and the world mourns, the clouds split open and cry and in the dark the sun dies. It is beautiful, woman. I think you showed a side of light and your heart is love. Thank you for sharing. :)

Spare me! I hope I don't have to write these poems too often; I've had enough grief for a while... so many unwell friends, and a sick cat too. But writing poetry about it feels therapeutic.

Such a great way to share your mourning and at the same time give us the reassuring comfort from the Lord. Great use of the repetition of "Not today" and ending with the someday reunion.

I have no more stars to give
The artwork you choose to go with your poem, are a perfect match Looking at the picture a bird seem to be looking for it's match and fears that she I has met a awful fate
Just as your poem said it's not good bye for the love that is gone she will met him later at peaceful friendly place.
Thank you for sharing

Comforting and so beautiful. We need these reminders now and then, even when we're not at the moment faced with the death of a loved one. Life is filled with at too many goodbyes.

Thanks for this much appreciated review, Carla. The poem isn't specific to anyone in my life at the moment, thank goodness. I wrote it because the words 'not today' kept looking for a home in my brain, then when this poem came out I realised how universal it is.
Comment from Janice Canerdy
This poem is so lovely and achingly moving. People speak sincere, sweet words of comfort to the bereaved, who--out of respect and
appreciation--won't respond that at that MOMENT the words seem so empty. As healing takes place, those well-meant words will come back.

Thanks for your wonderful review, Janice. Sometimes words are better to be put on a page to revisit later. I think our ears shut down for a while and we withdraw when we are hurting real bad.

A very well-written poem about an anniversary of someone close's death and we always have the memories of the good times in our minds until we meet again one day.

If this is written about a loved one I'm very sorry for your loss, Lisa May.
Although the content is sad, the poem has a lyrical quality because of rhyme and meter.
The turn at the end offers hope in a gentle reassuring manner.
Blessings, Julia

I am sorry for the loss of your dear dad, Lisa. I know he was especially close and the rock of your life. A sweet poem you penned in his honor today. You will see him again in heaven above.
Always my best,
