This is a very nice entry for the 575 Night poem contest. Your syllable count is correct. Your words describe the picture you chose very well. I particularly like your alliteration in the first line. Great job and thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. Great work with the syllable count per line. Your image is a perfect choice for your well-chosen words.
This would look super with a dark blue or black background and white lettering--just my opinion.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Thanks Jan, for your review. I agree with you about the background and did try it but unfortunately the picture didn't show up properly.

Maybe just try a shade of blue.
You did go to advanced editor and select black as the background and highlight your words to select a different color for them, right?

I love the imagery in your poem and the way you tease the imagination with you concluding line, moonlight are you there? You have my vote. I love this.

I think this is a good entry for the 5-7-5 Night writing prompt.
This short verse tells of sheets of stars and peaceful stillness.
I wish you good luck with the contest.

A well constructed 5-7-5 poetic post.
Also, perfectly framed with the picture you selected.
My pleasure to read and review. We are so fortunate that the artists on FanArt share their work with our site.

You've written an excellent 5-7-5 poem about the magic of the night
with very good alliteration in the "s" words.
You create an excellent mood in the poem
and end with an intriguing question.
Excellent art work
Well done
Best wishes in the contest and for the New Year.

Yes, but not for much longer is the answer to the question posed by the poem as this is the moon in her final waning quarter. You can always tell as the waxing moon is shaped like a D and the waning like a C, even when as here it is on its back.
